ZUDAIRE

Nestled in the Améscoa valley, the southern gateway to the Urbasa-Andía Natural Park.

Zudaire is one of the beautiful locations of the film Tasio within the Navarra cinema route. Strolling through its streets is to merge into Toti Martinez de Lezea’s novel “Los Sons de Ogaiz”. One of its gastronomic riches is cheese: Zudaire is part of the Améscoa cheese route and is the town that has the youngest shepherdess in Navarra.

ERAUL

Located in the Yerri valley and surrounded by the rocks of San Fausto where protected species such as the Egyptian vulture nest, in its rocks we can practice climbing on one of its different via ferratas that remain open outside the nesting period and / or take a look at the imposing “Mirador de Lazkua” following the family path marked out by Tierras de Iranzu, the tourist association that combines the wide range of services in the area.

The rocks of San Fausto are home to sites recognized as one of the most interesting ensembles of Navarre Protohistory: Altikogaña (a fortified town of the II Iron Age and Bargagorria (I. Iron Age).

LEZAUN

On the slopes of the Sierra de Andía, Lezaun in Basque Leza- (lezea: cave) –un (unites: place), describes the karst landscape of its mountains, surrounded by chasms and caves. Strolling along trails such as “the Lezaun beech forest” “the Erbioz ravine” or “The Ubagua river canyon” is to take an unforgettable nature bath any time of year. 

San Francisco Javier, patron saint of Navarra, was a direct family of the Azpilikueta of this locality and within the rich historical-artistic heritage of Lezaun, is the hermitage of San Cristóbal (of medieval origin). 

ARRADIA-PUERTO DE ARRADIA (629m)

To speak of Irurre and Arradia is to speak of one of its most illustrious neighbors: Henri Lenaerts, an internationally recognized Belgian sculptor who during his 35 years of stay in Irurre (1971-2006) sculpted a part of his artistic legacy that today we can enjoy in ” The Henri Lenaerts Center ”through a guided tour inside the house and the Paulette Garden, with wonderful views of the Alloz reservoir. 

The town pays tribute to the renowned artist with a tour that takes his name “Henri’s Legacy”, with seven points of interest spread over different sectors of the town. 

SAN CRISTOBAL

Hermitage located in a meeting of rural roads between Ibiricu de Yerri and Lezaun, in the middle of a forest. Its origin is probably Medieval, although it has undergone various transformations. It is a rectangular-shaped construction with a gabled roof, with ashlar walls reinforced with ashlar at the corners.

In the area, you can see some phenomena related to the Estella-Dax fault, which some geologists point out as the limit between the Western Pyrenees and the Basque-Cantabrian Basin

In 2008, archaeological surveys were carried out in Allide, a term close to La Ermita de San Cristóbal, considering that the site may belong to a small military post associated with a secondary road in the road network, active during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.

GUEMBE

Guembe, a former royal lordship given by King Sancho VII the Strong (1205) to the magnate Gil de Vidaurre, is one of the 15 councils that make up the Guesalaz valley together with the independent municipality of Salinas de Oro. Guesalaz is the name derived from the Salado river, which crosses its territory from north to south, feeding the Alloz reservoir with its waters and those of its tributaries with two bathing spaces enabled in Lerate and Úgar. 

The Valley, full of nature and steeped in history, is one of the most beautiful corners of Tierra Estella.

GOÑI

The Goñi Valley is located in the southeastern foothills of the Sierra de Andía and west of Navarra. Its altitude ranges between 800 and 1,200m. Corner for lovers of active tourism and Nature. In the neighboring valley of Ollo, there is the source of the Arteta river and the Artazul ravine. 

It is made up of the towns of Aizpún, Azanza, Goñi, Munárriz and Urdánoz. Aizpún is the center and seat of the town hall of the valley and Munárriz the highest population. 

Among the architectural and artistic values ​​are the Romanesque church of Goñi, manor houses from the 14th and 18th centuries or the wells of Azanza and Munárriz, as well as interesting discoidal stelae.
